The team manages the planning and delivery of maintenance and related programs for schools, early childhood education and care centres and staff housing. We are committed to continuous improvement through the various maintenance related functions and also support ongoing professional development of team members, which will ultimately enable us to provide an optimal service to our clients.

About the Role:

The Senior Information Officer, Maintenance and Improvement will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

  • Develop and maintain performance measurement systems for the provision of accurate, reliable and appropriate maintenance data to meet the requirements of decision makers, managers and planners at departmental, State and Commonwealth government levels.
  • Extract, analyse and present complex data sets using contemporary information management and business intelligence software for distribution to internal and external clients in response to on-demand requests and annual reporting requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance and expert advice on the context, appropriate use, interpretation and presentation of departmental data sets and statistics to internal and external clients, colleagues and various levels of management.
  • Prepare briefing notes, Ministerial and executive management correspondence on a range of complex and sensitive issues.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external networks to support best practice approaches across a range of infrastructure and planning related services.
  • Undertake research, analysis and evaluation to support business improvement initiatives for the department's asset management programs and services, in line with industry-acknowledged quality standards.

About You:

To be successful in the role you will have the following qualities:

  • Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications required for this position, it would be highly desirable for the successful applicant to possess:
o Qualifications in information management, open data, or geospatial information.
  • Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to utilise these skills to improve policies and processes and meet organisational objectives.
