About the Department:

Your role will be supportive one of the largest Queensland Government Departments by playing a pivotal part in ensuring our recruitment team provides a great experience for hiring managers and stakeholders to meet resourcing for DoE.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide day to day leadership of a team delivering targeted recruitment programs and met service delivery.
  • Support quality human resource advice and solutions to support client groups in best practice recruitment to achieve operational objectives.
  • Lead human resource management and recruitment related projects.
  • Drive effective working relationships with clients and management through the provision of consultancy services and prove advice on a full range of complex and sensitive human resource management issues.
  • Provide expert advice in relation to instruments, policies, processes and systems.
  • Support a high performing and safe culture, where each person is valued for their strengths, and contribution to the team.
  • Drive process improvements through coaching, engagement and enabling capability of the team.

Our ideal candidate would possess:

  • Proven experience in leading a team, including contributing and delivering excellence in performance development and management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of talent attraction, recruitment and human resource practices and a record of successfully applying this through the development and delivery of high quality, customer focussed people services and initiatives.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to collaboratively engage with, lead and influence key stakeholders, staff and senior leadership.
  • Ability to confidently provide advice and guidance on relevant legislation including awards, policies and procedures or the ability to acquire and interrupt information as required.
  • Great communicator with a mix of hands-on recruitment and strategic planning.
