About the role:

As the Senior Finance Officer you will:

  • Assume a leading role in the development and management of the school-based salaries and school purchase recoveries, corporate and internal budgets, and the development of complex labour related costings.
  • Assume a leading role in labour related data management and the provision of analysis and advice in relation to business and financial risk for school-based salaries.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Undertake complex data conceptualisation and analysis utilising large datasets to deliver business solutions and costings relating to Enterprise Bargaining and other initiatives for all departmental labour groups.
  • Contribute to the breakdown of complex problems and operationalise concepts into simple workable solutions that are clear and well documented.
  • Develop, implement and maintain budget policies, procedures and practices that facilitate and contribute to improved workforce resource allocation and financial management within the department.
  • Provide analysis and advice on school-based salaries budgetary full-time equivalent (FTE) and financial performance and financial management, including the preparation of content for monthly governance and business reporting.
  • Develop and review costing methodologies and tools that accurately calculate future labour related costs for departmental and government budget forecasting.
  • Undertake complex research activities and prepare submissions, reports and briefing materials for senior officers and forums on budget management and process issues.
  • Liaise, communicate and consult with a range of stakeholders in relation to data analysis, costings and school-based salaries budget.
