Your Responsibilities
As the Senior Finance Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Contribute to the delivery of robust, high quality financial performance reporting for the department.
- Contribute to the preparation of the department's general purpose and specific purpose financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards, relevant financial management legislation and Treasury and departmental guidelines.
- Prepare financial reconciliations, raising journal entries and working papers and implementing appropriate policies, systems, procedures and practices to ensure the integrity of the department's general ledger system.
- Undertake complex research activities and prepare submissions, reports and briefing materials for senior officers and forums on financial policy and management issues.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of desk manuals and other administration documents.
- Assist with the development and implementation of financial and operational policies, procedures and practices which facilitate and support financial management within the department.
- Actively contribute to the success of the team by complying with departmental standards and branch protocols, and working responsibly either alone or with others.
- Excellent time management, problem solving and communication skills as well as possess ability to manage deliverables with conflicting priorities.
