About the Maximising Learning Team:

  • The Metropolitan South Region's Maximising Learning Team is a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to enhancing student engagement and learning, with a primary focus onPrep-Year 2 (Starting Strong)andYear7-9 (On Track for Success).
  • The team, which includes Deputy Principals, Senior Guidance Officers, Senior Education Officers, Senior Speech Language Pathologists, Senior Occupational Therapist and Senior Physiotherapist, takes a holistic, wrap-around approach that addresses both individual student needs and the broader school context.
  • The team provides intensive, targeted and individualised support at a student and whole-school level, working closely with school leaders and teachers to strengthen capability. By collaborating and supporting schools to develop sustainable practices, the team enhances engagement and learning outcomes across the region.

About You:

The successful applicants will contribute to the school priorities identified in ‘Equity and Excellence', with a specific focus in either the‘Starting Strong (Prep-Year 2)'or‘On Track for Success (Year 7-9)'priority areas.

They will be required to support school leaders with strategies to maximise learning for students through individualised and differentiated student support, whole school systems and processes and capability development of school staff.

They will support schools on their journey towards inclusive education as everyday practice in every classroom. They will build the confidence and capability of school leaders, leadership teams, teachers and support staff to put research and policy into practice, so that every student realises their potential.

About the Role:

Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to:

  • Understanding the current educational environment and providing advice on processes and protocols with a focus on educational achievement and engagement.
  • Liaising, consulting and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to provide high quality advice within agreed state-wide frameworks and processes.
  • Providing current educational research, evidenced based practices and effective use of available technology to lead and manage teams with the aim of improving outcomes.
  • Imparting a thorough understanding of the practicalities of improvements to ensure uptake of improvement strategies and initiatives.
  • Understanding and effectively communicating opportunities for improvement by negotiating and redesigning systems and processes to optimise outcomes.
  • Demonstrating a high-level commitment to professional development and the best practice approach to implement strategies that contribute to improvement.
