Your Role:
The Senior Corporate Governance Officer will work in the Corporate Governance Team and:
- Provide timely and accurate corporate governance support and advice to senior management and clients on matters relating to Financial and Human Resources issues for the Division.
- Ensure procedures and systems are efficient, priorities are met and deadlines achieved;
- Contribute to briefing materials, submissions, papers, reports and correspondence;
- Build positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders;
- Undertake other duties as required to enable the team's objectives to be achieved.
About You:
The ideal applicant will have the following key attributes:
- Knowledge and understanding of the Financial Accountability Act 2009, Financial Management Practice Manual, relevant departmental and division finance and human resource policies and procedures.
- High-level written, spoken and digital communication skills.
- Initiative, problem solving skills and common sense to identify issues before they arise and provide solutions.
- Maintain current operational policies, procedures, processes and systems, ensuring robust processes with appropriate internal controls and checks.
- Provide information on procedures, standards and practices to ensure the division's compliance with Government and departmental requirements
- Assist and/or coordinate the asset management stocktake for the branch to ensure compliance with Government and departmental legislation, policy and standards.
- Our team manages a high volume of work and you will always be busy. You need to be motivated, a fast learner, have good negotiations skills and be hard working.
- Experience working in a diverse and unconventional team. We are flexible and value someone with a 'can do' attitude; someone willing to 'get in there', analyse, research and provide solutions and advice.
