Your Role:

As the Senior Contracts Officer, you will:

  • Support the delivery of early childhood programs including funding program implementation.
  • Negotiate and implement early childhood contract management arrangements with a diverse range of providers to meet the needs of children, families and communities.

The Senior Contracts Officer reports to the Manager of the work unit.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high quality advice and services relating to contract negotiation, formation, management and administration activities.
  • Advising and guiding staff across the division on State and departmental contracting policies and practices, internal processes and templates used to deliver contracting services to clients.
  • Maintaining a detailed documentary record of contractual processes, decisions and arrangements undertaken, ensuring the audit trail is adequately maintained and documented for probity, accountability and audit purposes.
  • Supporting the management of a suite of programs, including management of funding rounds and contracts, to ensure the strategic aims and objectives of the Government are achieved.
  • Monitoring systems and strategies to ensure remedial action is taken and non-compliance issues with providers are effectively managed.
