SEND One-to-One Teaching Assistant (Part-Time)

Location: Chorley PR7 Contract: Part-Time, Term Time Only Start Date: 16th March 2026

About the Role

We are seeking a committed, patient, and enthusiastic SEND One-to-One Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will work closely with a pupil who has Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum and thrive in the school environment.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference to a child's learning and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support to a pupil with SEND, following their individual support plan.
  • Assist the pupil in accessing learning activities, adapting resources and strategies where needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure consistent and effective provision.
  • Promote the pupil's independence, confidence, and social development.
  • Support with behaviour management in a calm and constructive manner.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of progress and observations.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • About You

    We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children with SEND.
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting children's needs.
  • Possesses strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Is adaptable, proactive, and willing to learn.
  • Has good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Understands safeguarding practices and is committed to pupil welfare.
