Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs to achieve their full potential?

Veritas Education is working in partnership with a vibrant and inclusive 11-16 secondary school in Redcar seeking a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September on a full-time, long-term basis.

Due to continued expansion of the school's inclusion provision and a growing need to support pupils with a range of additional learning needs, the school is looking to appoint a proactive and nurturing individual who can make a positive difference both in and out of the classroom.

The Role

  • Support students with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group intervention support
  • Promote engagement, confidence and independence
  • Work closely with teaching and pastoral teams to support inclusion across the school
  • Help create a positive and supportive learning environment
  • We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults
  • A patient, resilient and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine interest in SEND, inclusion and supporting young people to succeed
  • Graduates, support workers, care staff, youth workers, coaches and experienced Teaching Assistants are all encouraged to apply
