Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to lead SEND provision and drive positive outcomes for learners with additional needs. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering high-quality SEND support across the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of SEND policy, practice and provision across the school.
  • Oversee assessment, planning and review of pupils with EHCPs and SEND support plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions and support strategies.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure high-quality differentiated learning.
  • Liaise with external agencies, parents/carers and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Provide professional guidance, training and support to staff on SEND best practice.
  • Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) with significant experience in SEND leadership or SENCO role.
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and assessment procedures.
  • Experience of coordinating EHCPs and working with multi-agency professionals.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead, influence and support colleagues to drive improvements.
