About the Role

We are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist autism and SEND school in West London. This is an excellent opportunity for a caring and experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

You will work alongside teachers and support staff to help pupils develop academically, socially, emotionally and independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with Autism and SEND.
  • Support learning through differentiated and personalised activities.
  • Promote communication, social skills, emotional regulation and independence.
  • Support positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Work with teachers and other professionals to support EHCP outcomes and individual needs.
  • Candidate Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, Autism or additional needs.
  • Previous experience as a SEN TA, Teaching Assistant, LSA or similar is desirable.
  • Patient, calm and empathetic approach with strong communication skills.
  • Understanding of SEN support, behaviour management and differentiated learning.
  • Experience with PECS, Makaton, visual supports or sensory strategies is advantageous.
