SEN Teaching Assistant
County Durham (Newton Aycliffe, Bishop Auckland & Durham)£95-£110 per dayStart: September (or sooner in some cases)Short/Long term temporary appointmentsFull-time & part-time opportunities availableDue to continued growth and expansion across the North-East, Veritas Education are actively recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support a range of mainstream and specialist provisions across County Durham, including sites in Newton Aycliffe, Bishop Auckland and Durham.
You will be working in specialist settings supporting children and young people with a variety of additional needs, helping them to engage with education in a safe, structured and supportive environment.
The Role
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with Special Educational NeedsSupport students with a range of needs including Autism, SEMH and complex learning difficultiesAssist with behaviour management and emotional regulationWork closely with teaching staff and other professionals to support pupil progressHelp create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environmentWho We're Looking For
We are keen to hear from individuals who are:
Experienced working with children or young people with SEN (desirable)Patient, resilient and able to build positive relationshipsCalm and confident supporting pupils with additional needsPassionate about making a difference in educationRelevant backgrounds include:
