  • Due to continued growth and expansion across the North-East, Veritas Education are actively recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support a range of mainstream and specialist provisions across County Durham, including sites in Newton Aycliffe, Bishop Auckland and Durham.

    You will be working in specialist settings supporting children and young people with a variety of additional needs, helping them to engage with education in a safe, structured and supportive environment.

    The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • Support students with a range of needs including Autism, SEMH and complex learning difficulties
  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to support pupil progress
  • Help create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Who We're Looking For

  • Experienced working with children or young people with SEN (desirable)
  • Patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships
  • Calm and confident supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Passionate about making a difference in education
  • Relevant backgrounds include:

  • Teaching Assistants / SEN support staff
  • Youth workers or sports coaches
  • Care workers / support workers
  • Psychology graduates or aspiring teachers
