SEN Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Secondary School

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a degree and a passion for supporting young people?A supportive and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from now until the end of the academic year, with the strong possibility of extension into September 2026 for high‑performing candidates.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students with SEND across KS3 and KS4
  • Deliver 1:1 and small‑group interventions tailored to individual needs
  • Adapt learning resources in collaboration with teaching staff
  • Assist with behaviour support and promote an inclusive, positive environment
  • Work closely with the SENCO and wider support team on student support plans
  • Build strong, professional relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Requirements

    To be considered, you must have:

  • Previous experience working in a UK school setting
  • A degree in any subject
  • Experience supporting students with SEND, such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, SpLD or speech & language needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, resilient, and proactive mindset
  • Confidence supporting learning within a busy secondary environment
