SEN Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Secondary School
Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a degree and a passion for supporting young people?A supportive and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from now until the end of the academic year, with the strong possibility of extension into September 2026 for high‑performing candidates.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support students with SEND across KS3 and KS4Deliver 1:1 and small‑group interventions tailored to individual needsAdapt learning resources in collaboration with teaching staffAssist with behaviour support and promote an inclusive, positive environmentWork closely with the SENCO and wider support team on student support plansBuild strong, professional relationships with students, staff, and parentsRequirements
To be considered, you must have:
Previous experience working in a UK school setting A degree in any subject Experience supporting students with SEND, such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, SpLD or speech & language needsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsA patient, resilient, and proactive mindsetConfidence supporting learning within a busy secondary environmentWhat the School Offers
