SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time) - Southport

Start Date: ASAP Hours: Full-time, 5 days per week Pay: £90-£100 per day

Veritas Education are recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant / Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant to work full-time (Monday to Friday) in an Outstanding SEN School in Southport. This role is ideal for someone with experience in SEN or a strong desire to build a career supporting children with additional needs.

The Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties).

  • Support students to access the National Curriculum in a way that meets their individual needs.

  • Assist with behaviour management, using positive strategies and de-escalation techniques.

  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals.

  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to feedback and support planning.

  • Encourage independence, confidence, and emotional development.

    • The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential).

  • Is patient, resilient, and empathetic.

  • Has a positive attitude and a genuine passion for supporting children's education.

  • Is confident managing challenging behaviour or willing to learn.

  • Can commit to a full-time, long-term role in Southport.

  • Provide professional references and meet safeguarding requirements.

  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.

  • Have a CV covering the last 10 years of employment, with any gaps explained.

  • Be willing to attend a registration interview with Veritas Education.
