A vibrant mixed secondary school in Redbridge are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. Within this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you would be supporting pupils aged 11-16 with a range of additional needs. The school are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant, ideally with experience with children with SEN. If you are a proactive and caring individual looking to make a difference to the lives of young people, working as a SEN Teaching Assistant role could be the right fit for you.

The school is well connected to transport links, with socialble hours and a supportive atmosphere. There is also on-site parking. The school has recently refurbished fascilities, and is well resourced. Moist importantly, you will be joining an experinced SEN Team with their students at the heart of what they do.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-to-one and group support to children with SEN, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Implementing tailored learning strategies and interventions as directed by the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
  • Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to ensure the individual needs of students are met effectively.
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of differentiated activities to support student progress.
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.

    • Requirements:

  • Previous experience with children with additional needs
  • Previous experience in a school setting
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Strong understanding of various Special Educational Needs and associated support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting the diverse needs of students.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable but not essential).
