Job Title: SEN Teacher (Ages 13+) - Full-Time Location: Chorley, Lancashire Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist provision in Chorley, supporting students aged 13 and above with sensory needs. The successful candidate will deliver a tailored, engaging curriculum that meets each student's unique learning requirements, fostering independence, confidence, and a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across core and foundation subjects for students with sensory needsSupport students' individual EHCP targets and personalised learning plansCreate a structured, inclusive, and sensory-friendly learning environmentAssess, track, and report pupil progress effectivelyCollaborate with TAs, SENCOs, and external professionals to meet student needsPromote students' social, emotional, and behavioural developmentAdapt teaching approaches to suit varying abilities and sensory requirementsRequirements
QTS/QTLS (essential)Proven experience teaching secondary-aged students with SEN, particularly sensory needsStrong understanding of conditions such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and sensory processing differencesAbility to deliver lessons across multiple subjects and adapt teaching methods effectivelyCalm, nurturing approach and excellent classroom management skillsEnhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)Benefits
