Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs?

Veritas Education are working in partnership with a highly regarded all-through specialist provision in Middlesbrough, seeking to appoint a qualified SEN Teacher on a permanent, full-time basis starting September 2026.

This specialist setting supports pupils aged primary through to post-16, all with a range of complex learning difficulties, including moderate to severe learning needs, ASD, and associated communication challenges.

The school offers a highly personalised curriculum, centred around:

  • Academic development (adapted pathways)
  • Communication and interaction
  • Independence and life skills
  • Preparation for adulthood
  • Pupils follow a mix of formal and semi-formal pathways, with a strong emphasis on engagement, functional learning, and holistic development.

    As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver adapted, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Support pupils working at a range of developmental and cognitive levels
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral teams
  • Track and monitor progress using EHCP targets and personalised outcomes
  • Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
  • We are looking for:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS essential)
  • Experience working with SEN learners, ideally in a specialist setting
  • Strong understanding of differentiation and personalised learning
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Passion for supporting pupils with complex needs and barriers to learning
