An amazing opportunity has become available for 2025; we are seeking a dynamic individual for our Leader of Careers & Pathways (Tier 3 Middle Leader) role for the 2025 school year (maternity leave contract).
The Leader of Careers and Pathways supports the College Leadership Team with the educational leadership of the school community, with a particular focus on:

1. leading high-quality career advising and flexible pathways options for students;
2. implementing a school-wide career development program which is embedded into wellbeing and the curriculum to increase overall engagement and student outcomes;
3. maintaining and developing the school as a centre of quality teaching and learning that knows its students and their pathways.

This position works closely with the Leader of Learning and the Leader of Student Wellbeing to drive strategic improvement across the college, with a focus on student engagement to lead best practice processes.

As a light teaching component is attached to this role, QCT registration is required. An educational leadership qualification is highly desirable as this role has a strategic element. Additionally, the role holder must have postgraduate qualifications in career development, and QTAC requirements.

About you -
To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience in Teaching Area/Specialisation as well as:
  • Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum
  • Commitment to child safety
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.

At BCE our teachers are required to:
  • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
