We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated teacher to join our school community. This is a full time, continuing position commencing January 2025 teaching Secondary English, Humanities and Religious Education with the possibility of a Middle Leadership role. 

Saint Mary’s Catholic College, Kingaroy attracts additional financial and employment benefits according to the Remote Area Incentive Scheme (RAIS).  Through the Remote Area Incentive Scheme, teachers embark upon an educational ministry of teaching in a rural school to make a positive impact in rural communities through committee and continuing service.

Additional allowances include a fortnightly ITAS payment (Isolated Teachers' Assistance Scheme) and annual Incentive Payment:

  • Year one - $1,500 per annum
  • Year two - $1,800 per annum
  • Years three, four and five - $2,500 per annum
  • Year six and subsequent years - $2,000 per annum

About the role -

To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience in English, Humanities and Religious Education Teaching as well as:
  • Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum
  • Commitment to child safety
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Attend in detail to innovative and creative practices
  • An ability to identify and cater for different learning styles
  • Competent at integrating digital technology into a contemporary learning environment
  • If this position requires classroom teaching of Religious Education, applicants must be Catholic
  • Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.

At BCE our teachers are required to:
  • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

Do I have to be Catholic?
If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
We support all teachers with Accreditation to Teach pathways after you start with us.
