Secondary Cover Teacher/Cover Supervisor with QTS

We are currently seeking a qualified Secondary Teacher for a Cover Teacher/Cover Supervisor role at a secondary school based in the borough of Newham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and experienced professional to step into a supportive role, covering absent teachers and ensuring students continue to engage with their studies.

Key Responsibilities for Cover Teacher/Cover Supervisor:

  • Independently cover lessons across the school in the absence of teaching staff
  • Support students with learning difficulties and promote their engagement with the curriculum
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure students stay on track
  • Encourage proactive participation and foster a positive learning environment
  • Help students meet their academic goals and attain their potential
  • Manage student behaviour effectively, ensuring a focused classroom atmosphere
  • Provide a safe and respectful learning environment
  • Liaise with senior staff and colleagues to ensure smooth operations

    • Requirements:

  • QTS or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of the UK curriculum
  • Previous experience as a cover teacher/cover supervisor
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding practices
  • Enhanced DBS check (online update required) and two references on file
