The successful applicant will be appointed to the TO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the TO3 once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of TO2 to TO3 classification range.  

About our School:

Bundaberg North State High School has approx. 700 students from Years 7 to 12. The school offers a variety of academic programs, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth and Environmental Science. About your Role:

This role supports the science department by providing technical and administrative assistance to the Head of Department, teachers, and lab staff. Responsibilities include preparing and setting up lab equipment, demonstrations, and materials for practical sessions, as well as ensuring the safe storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals. Chem-watch experience is required for this position.

As the Science Technician, you will:

  • Contribute to the effective and efficient management of the school science department by providing technical and administration support to the respective Head of Department, teachers and laboratory staff of the school science department.
  • Work independently within guidelines, general directions and instructions, performing responsible tasks associated with the efficient operation of the school science department.
  • The Science Technician reports to the Principal or nominated delegate.
