About the Role
Veritas Education is working in partnership with a well-established secondary school in the Bradford area to recruit a reliable and enthusiastic Science Technician for a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful Science department and play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to ensure laboratories are fully equipped, safe, and prepared for engaging scientific learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, set up, and clear away equipment for practical Science lessonsSupport teachers with practical demonstrations and experimentsMaintain Science laboratories, equipment, and resourcesEnsure compliance with health and safety regulations and CLEAPSS guidanceManage stock levels and order materials and equipment as requiredCarry out routine maintenance, cleaning, and safety checks of equipmentAssist with the organisation and storage of chemicals and resourcesSupport students and staff during practical activities where requiredThe Ideal Candidate
Previous experience working in a laboratory, school, or scientific environment is desirableStrong organisational skills and attention to detailA good understanding of health and safety proceduresExcellent communication and teamwork skillsAbility to prioritise tasks and work independentlyA proactive and flexible approach to supporting the Science departmentCommitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young peopleWhat the School Offers
