Are you a Science Graduate looking for a new role? Do you have experience working as a Tutor, or as a Teaching Assistant, but want to utalise your degree more? A warm and supportive secondary school in Hackney are looking for a Science Teaching Assistant to start after Easter. You will be supporting students within the science department, both within classes and on a small group basis. As a Science Teaching Assistant, you will work with students aged 11-18 of mixed abilities. The science department is close knit and well resourced, and they are looking forward to adding a Science Teaching Assistant to their team. This Science Teaching Assistant position is a great role for somone considering teacher training, or an experienced teaching assistant looking for a new role.

This role is in an OFSTED 'Good' secondary school in Hackney, East London. There are good career opportunities, and you will be joing a well resourced science department. The school has good transport links, and is close to green spaces in the local area. A focus is placed on staff wellbeing, with various events and opportunities designed to support staff. There is also plenty of CPD and training offered, and good career progresiion.

What we're looking for:

  • A Science degree (min lower second)
  • Previous experience working with secondary aged children, ideally within a school
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service 9or be willing to get one)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting the diverse needs of students
