About the Role
As the Schools Officer, Grounds, you will play a key role in ensuring the school's grounds and facilities are maintained to the highest standard. Reporting directly to the Principal, Business Manager, or a nominated delegate, you will perform a variety of tasks to support the efficient and effective operation of the school. This role offers a mix of routine and non-routine activities, with regular supervision provided for more complex tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining school ovals, lawns, and gardens, including mowing, watering, weeding, and applying fertilisers and insecticides as required.
- Ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, including safe storage and handling of chemicals and equipment.
- Coordinating the removal and disposal of rubbish and assisting with general maintenance tasks such as repairing fences, gates, and irrigation systems.
- Maintaining and servicing grounds care equipment, including mowers, brush cutters, and tractors, as per manufacturers' guidelines.
- Preparing and maintaining outdoor sporting facilities and assisting with field laboratory work for the junior agricultural course, if required.

About You
The following traits would be beneficial:
- Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or general maintenance.
- Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) practices and procedures.
- Ability to operate and maintain grounds care equipment such as mowers and brush cutters.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
