About the Role
As the Schools Officer - Grounds & Facilities, you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation of Kingston State College by maintaining high standards for the school's grounds and facilities. Reporting directly to the Principal, Business Manager, or a nominated delegate, you will perform a variety of routine and non-routine tasks to support the school's operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining school grounds, including mowing, gardening, and general landscaping tasks.
- Performing basic maintenance and repairs on school facilities and equipment.
- Supporting security and safety measures, including locking/unlocking buildings and maintaining security systems.
- Assisting with event preparation, including setting up and arranging furniture and equipment.
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety standards, including safe storage and handling of materials.
This role would suit a proactive and reliable individual who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and contributing to the success of a vibrant school community.
About You
The following traits would be beneficial:
- Experience in groundskeeping, maintenance, or a related field.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently on routine tasks.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with staff, students, and external contractors.
