About the Role
As the Schools Officer (Grounds), you will play a vital role in maintaining the college's outdoor spaces and facilities. Reporting to the Principal or nominated supervisor, you will ensure the school grounds are safe, attractive, and well-maintained for students, staff, and visitors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining school ovals, lawns, gardens, and landscaped areas through mowing, watering, weeding, and fertilising.
- Performing minor repairs to fences, gates, paving, and irrigation systems.
- Operating and maintaining grounds equipment and machinery, including mowers and brush cutters.
- Ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures, including safe handling of chemicals and equipment.
- Supporting agricultural or outdoor learning programs as required.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in creating and maintaining high-quality outdoor environments.
About You
The following traits would be beneficial:
- Experience or practical skills in grounds or property maintenance.
- Ability to operate and maintain grounds equipment and tools.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
- Eligibility to obtain a valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
