About Queensland Academy for Science, Mathematics and Technology
QASMT is a selective entry school, located within four kilometres of Brisbane City centre. The Academy opened in January 2007 and works in partnership with a range of universities, including the University of Queensland, in nurturing highly capable students in achieving their potential as future leaders in a science specialist school environment.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily management and maintenance of school grounds and facilities.
- Ensure the upkeep of the school environment, including outdoor areas, buildings, and equipment.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Team to carry out regular inspections and repairs.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of school events or activities requiring facilities support.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, health, and safety across school facilities.
- Manage inventory and ordering of materials needed for maintenance and repairs.
Required Capabilities and Skills:
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail, ensuring that all maintenance work meets high standards.
- Problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify and address issues quickly.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks associated with grounds and facilities management.
- Proficiency in the use of maintenance tools and equipment.
- Experience in groundskeeping or facilities management is highly desirable.
