About the School:

Injune P-10 State School is a Prep to Year 10 campus. The primary section of the school was established in 1921 with Alfred Biggs as first Principal. The secondary wing was added in 1963 when Year 8 first moved to high school. In 2014 the first Year 7 class moved to secondary schooling.

Role:

You will work independently and perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature. However, the role receives regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature. The position reports directly to the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate.

You will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Maintaining school grounds, including maintenance of school ovals, grounds, gardens, regular mowing and weeding.
  • Providing operational support for the grounds and facility management issues, such as attending to or arranging repairs and maintenance for routine breakdown.
  • Interact with external contractors and tradespersons in relation to damage to facilities and repair and maintenance to the school, septic system and pool.
  • Delivering and collecting of mail, banking of school funds.
  • Moving/arranging furniture or relocating from room to room.
  • Generate waste management support.
  • Liaise with the Principal or Business Manager regarding maintenance of facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements including maintenance of a safe work environment; safe storage and handling of chemicals, fertilisers and fuels, bring to attention any safety hazards, maintain tools.
  • Other suitable duties consistent with duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the principal.

This is a OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of OO2 to OO3 classification range.
