About the Role

Graceville State School is seeking a motivated and reliable Schools Officer who works well independently and as part of a team, and can adapt to the dynamic nature of a busy school environment. As a Schools Officer, you will work closely with our Business Manager to provide high-level facilities and grounds care for our school community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting security and safety measures, including managing security systems and locking/unlocking buildings.
  • Maintaining school grounds, including gardening, lawn care, and outdoor sports facilities.
  • Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety standards, including safe storage and handling of materials.
  • Coordinating repairs and maintenance of school facilities and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Pool chemical testing and maintaining.

About You

The following traits would be beneficial:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, students, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to plan and manage daily, weekly, and seasonal tasks independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in groundskeeping, gardening, or general maintenance tasks.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices and procedures.
  • Adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving and task management.
