The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of OO2 to OO3 classification range.

About the Role

Roles and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lawn management (Mowing, brush cutting, spraying, fertilising); Garden management (Spraying, weeding, mulching, fertilising, planting new plants); Facility management (Facilities tasks, identifying risks/hazards, maintaining facilities, preparing areas of our school for events); Collection of waste; coordinating the removal and/or disposal of rubbish as required.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements including maintenance of a safe work environment; safe storage and handling of chemicals, fertilisers and fuels; bring to appropriate attention any safety hazards, manage equipment records; and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders (Teachers, Contractors, Hirers etc).

About You

Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in grounds maintenance, facilities management, or a related field
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including manual labour, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to WHS protocols.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, students and contractors.
  • As a dynamic and well organised team member you will display excellence in problem solving, time management and a passion to ensure our grounds are maintained to a high standard.
