About the Role:

You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard. Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, you will have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Operational and logistics support: Deliver and collect mail, parcels and documents; manage printing and photocopying; prepare classrooms and halls for examinations, assemblies and activities; move and arrange furniture; and maintain asset registers, stocktaking and engraving of school equipment and furniture.
  • Grounds, cleaning and event assistance: Assist with drains and gutter clearing, waste collection, and urgent cleaning outside normal hours; support major school events such as fetes, plays and sporting events as required.
  • Security and access duties: Support school security systems, lock and unlock buildings within core hours, and transport and deposit school funds in accordance with procedures.
  • Workplace health, safety and equipment management: Ensure WHS compliance, identify and report hazards, maintain a safe work environment, manage equipment records, and maintain tools and equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintenance, repairs and liaison: Undertake or arrange repairs and maintenance of facilities, furniture, equipment, locks, windows and swimming pools; provide basic maintenance for specialist disability equipment; communicate with school leadership regarding maintenance needs; and liaise with tradespersons, staff and students on facility issues, damage and lost property.
