About Us:

Ipswich State High School is located in Brassall, with an enrolment of 1800 students and 200 staff. ISHS operates under the Computers for Teachers and student laptop program for years 7-9 and BYOX for years 10-12.

About the Role:

As the School Technical Officer, the role will work in a team of 3 under the direction of the T04 Computer Systems Administrator managing the operation of the school's information and communication technology (ICT) network services in order to contribute to the enhancement of student learning opportunities.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Provide advice and assistance on maximising the potential of IT operations within the school, including acquisition, installation, operation, maintenance, repair and replacement.
  • Support the school community with technical advice, instruction and assistance with electronic equipment in accordance with departmental, school and manufacturer's policy, guidelines and network standards.
  • Provide effective and efficient support to staff to resolve issues associated with staff & student computers and iPads, whilst ensuring high end customer focus and communication.
  • Maintain a range of technical services and accountable records related to the support of IT, including infrastructure used by the school.
  • Communicate with various stakeholders, including Regional Office on technical matters and provide technical advice when required.

The successful applicant will be appointed to the TO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the TO3 once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of TO2 to TO3 classification range for full-time hours before tax.
