About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Literacy and Numeracy School Support Officer to join the supportive team at The Assumption Catholic Primary School in Bathurst, NSW. The Literacy and Numeracy Aide in a Catholic school plays a vital role in supporting the personal, educational, and spiritual growth of students by assisting in the development of their foundational literacy and numeracy skills.

About You (selection criteria)
We are looking for someone who can address the following selection criteria:

Demonstrated ability to assist students in developing literacy and numeracy skills under the guidance of the learning support teacher and/or classroom teachers.

Experience in implementing support strategies for students with diverse learning needs.

Strong ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Familiarity with literacy and numeracy teaching materials and effective intervention strategies for students requiring additional support including but not limited to DIBELs Assessment, Pre-Lit, Mini-Lit, Mac-Lit and Corrective Reading.

Capacity to work as part of a team, supporting the learning support teacher and/or classroom teachers in achieving educational goals for all students.

Ability to organise resources and manage time effectively to support individual and group learning activities.

Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills in supporting literacy and numeracy.
