Southern Cross Catholic College is a Prep to Year 12 school offering families a co-educational pathway to life-long learning. The College was founded in 1995 following the amalgamation of the Catholic primary and secondary schools in the Moreton Bay Region. The multi-campus College operates as the principal Catholic College on the Redcliffe peninsula. Our Secondary Campus is seeking School Officers - Classroom Support to work within the Learning Enrichment Team, with a focus on the Years 7-12 cohort.
Our Learning Enrichment Team is a dynamic team which includes Support Teachers - Inclusive Education and Guidance Counsellor working together to meet the diverse learning needs of students across all year levels.
You will be required to work in a classroom environment with a high level of confidentiality, and a willingness to work with and engage with, students from Year 7 to Year 12.  

Duties include:

  • general classroom support – implementing effective strategies that support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Use of technology to assist student learning, record and maintain administrative records and keep up to date with school communication and expectations.


Ideally you will have:

previous experience as a School Officer (Teacher Aide) and/or hold a minimum Cert 3 in Educational Support

  • proven communication and interpersonal skills
  • an understanding of the work of a secondary classroom
  • strengths in Literacy and/or Numeracy
  • experience in Assistive Technology
  • a willingness to work as part of a team
  • you will also demonstrate an ability and initiative to apply your skills in supporting students to achieve successful learning outcomes.
