About the Role 

This position is working across Mount Isa State Schools Cluster (Barkly Highway State School, Healy State School, Happy Valley State School, Mount Isa Central State School, Mount Isa School of the Air, Mount Isa Special School, Spinifex State College, Sunset State School and Townview State School) in collaboration with the Mount Isa Educational Precinct, you will:

  • Foster collaboration between schools, community partners, and government agencies to deliver locally responsive, integrated strategies to enhance student engagement and belonging.
  • Use local knowledge to mobilise relevant supports aligned with Equity and Excellence and Partnership Initiative priorities to promote school participation and success for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
  • Promote involvement of First Nations communities and families in decision-making to improve learning and life outcomes for young Indigenous Australians.
  • Build strong relationships across local, regional, and state networks to inform and advise key stakeholders to support student belonging, engagement and wellbeing.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the cultural capability of school leaders and educational staff to provide an inclusive and culturally responsive environment for learning.
  • Build opportunities for First Nations students and families to experience success at school.
