About the Role
The Religious Education Coordinator is a key member of the leadership team of a Catholic school and exercises their ministry under the leadership of the Principal within the school leadership team, in collaboration with clergy, teachers, parents, Catholic Education staff and other members of the faith community who contribute to the life of the Catholic school.
The responsibilities of the Religious Education Coordinator in the Diocese of Bathurst are drawn from three key domains of leadership:
Religious Leadership: Promote Catholic tradition, spiritual practices, social justice, pastoral care, and liturgical activities while fostering parental involvement.
Educational Leadership: Model effective teaching, align Religious Education with Gospel values, oversee curriculum, and enhance teaching through data-driven insights.
Enabling Leadership: Drive strategic initiatives, manage resources, build partnerships, and support teacher accreditation in Religious Education.
About You
We are seeking someone who is able to meet the following selection criteria:
- Proven ability to lead a faith-filled Catholic community with a strong commitment to Catholic teachings.
- Demonstrated success in building positive relationships and fostering effective collaboration between Parish and school.
- Educational Leadership:
- Evidence of highly effective classroom teaching and expertise in curriculum design, particularly in Religious Education.
- Proven capacity to lead the implementation of Diocesan RE policies and school-wide initiatives.
- Enabling Leadership:
- Strong ability to lead school improvement processes and enhance pedagogy within a professional learning community.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and leading professional learning strategies that improve student outcomes.
- Effective management skills with the ability to develop staff at individual and whole-school levels.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and accreditation in Religious Education.
- Meets the requirements of (Category E) in the Accreditation Policy to Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Bathurst Diocese
