Catholic Education, Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn (CECG) plays an integral role in education in the ACT and NSW, operating 56 Catholic Systemic Schools and nine Early Learning Centres.
There will be a number of opportunities for experienced Religious Education Coordinator's (REC) and Classroom Teachers looking for a new and rewarding challenge in 2025. Qualifications
- Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching;
- ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration; and
- ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
To teach Religious Education in a Catholic school (to be a Religious Education Teacher), a teacher must:
- Be a practicing Catholic;
- Provide a reference from a current Parish Priest; and
- Have completed or be due to complete Accreditation D & E – Teach Religious Education in a Catholic school in accordance with the Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Catholic Education, Canberra and Goulburn Policy.
Selection Criteria
- Has experience in leading and building the capacity of staff in the Religious Education curriculum.
- Has experience in leading change and demonstrates contemporary pedagogy that focuses on improving student outcomes in Religious Education, including implementing High Impact Teaching Practices.
- Has experience in evaluating, analysing, and using data to inform learning and engage in future strategic planning in Religious Education.
- Demonstrates effective communication with a variety of stakeholders to build relationships.
- Has experience in working closely with the priests and the parish community to foster strong relationships with all parish agencies.
