About the Role 

The Religious Education Coordinator works closely with the Principal and Leadership Team to share the vital responsibility of providing both educational and spiritual leadership within the school community. This role plays a key part in fostering a Christ-centered faith community and ensuring that Catholic perspectives are seamlessly integrated across all subject areas. As a Senior Leadership position, the Religious Education Coordinator works closely with the Mission and Ministry Coordinator to nurture the spiritual well-being and growth of all members of the school. This position is for a practicing Catholic who is deeply committed to the Catholic faith and its values.

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching.
  • Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) registration.
  • NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation.

To teach Religious Education in a Catholic school (to be a Religious Education Teacher), a teacher must: 

  • Be Catholic; 
  • Provide a reference from a current Parish Priest; and 
  • Have completed or be due to complete Accreditation D & E – Teach Religious Education in a Catholic school in accordance with the Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Catholic Education, Canberra and Goulburn Policy. 

Selection Criteria 

  1. Has experience in leading and building the capacity of staff in the Religious Education curriculum.
  2. Has experience in leading change and demonstrates contemporary pedagogy that focuses on improving student outcomes in Religious Education, including implementing High Impact Teaching Practices.
  3. Has experience in evaluating, analysing, and using data to inform learning and engage in future strategic planning in Religious Education.
  4. Demonstrates effective communication with a variety of stakeholders to build relationships.
  5. Has experience in working closely with the priests and the parish community to foster strong relationships with all parish agencies.
