ECRA in the department is responsible for regulating Queensland's ECEC sector. The Licensing team within ECRA is responsible for approving ECEC providers and services in Queensland, primarily under the National Quality Framework (https://www.acecqa.gov.au/national-quality-framework) (NQF).

About the Role:

  • High quality early childhood education and care begins with safe, well-governed and properly approved providers and services. As a Regulatory Support Officer in the Licensing team, your work directly contributes to upholding robust licensing and approval standards, which support approved providers and services entering the sector as capable, compliant and committed to delivering quality experiences for children and families.
  • Be part of a team that supports ECRA by consistently and fairly applying relevant ECEC legislation, standards, policies and guidelines in the regulation of the ECEC sector within the context of the Regulating for Quality (https://earlychildhood.qld.gov.au/regulation/regulatory-approach/regulating-for-quality )

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Acting as the first point of contact, monitoring and following up on regulatory matters and prioritising work according to risk.
  • Implementing administrative procedures to ensure efficient intake and progression of regulatory matters in accordance with the ECEC legislation and principles of good administrative decision making, including processing financial transactions, such as application and annual fees, as required.
  • Monitoring, processing, validating applications as required, tracking and escalating matters according to risk.
  • Coordinating team workflow using regulatory systems and databases, ensuring correct data capture and review. 
  • Providing support in the maintenance of records, and regulatory and records management systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with information management requirements.
