The successful candidate will:
Teach Religious Studies across allocated classes and key stagesDeliver engaging, challenging and high-quality lessons that inspire students to achieve their bestContribute to curriculum development, including schemes of work and programmes of studySupport the continued development of Religious Studies within the schoolMaintain high standards of teaching, learning, behaviour and achievementLead and contribute to a range of Religious Studies enrichment and extra-curricular opportunitiesUndertake the responsibilities of a Form Tutor or Sixth Form TutorWork collaboratively with colleagues to support whole-school improvement initiativesKey Responsibilities
The postholder will:
Create a purposeful, stimulating and inclusive learning environmentPlan, deliver and assess lessons effectively across all key stagesMonitor, assess and report on student progress in line with school policiesSet and mark work regularly, providing clear feedback to studentsUse performance data to inform planning and raise achievementSupport students with additional learning needs in collaboration with specialist teamsPromote positive behaviour and high standards of attendanceContribute to curriculum planning and departmental developmentAttend and actively participate in departmental, year team and pastoral meetingsSupport wider school activities and eventsThe Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualificationBe passionate about Religious Studies and committed to delivering excellent outcomesDemonstrate strong subject knowledge and effective classroom practiceHave high expectations of student achievement and behaviourBe committed to inclusive education and supporting students from all backgroundsPossess excellent communication and organisational skillsBe eager to contribute to the wider life of the schoolWhy Apply?
