About the Role

Are you a qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner who is passionate about helping children learn, grow, and thrive? Veritas Education is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and committed practitioner to join our welcoming nursery team in Wakefield.

In this role, you'll be at the heart of our nursery, supporting children's learning and development in line with the EYFS framework. You'll help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

As a qualified practitioner, you'll also have the opportunity to take on key person responsibilities, building strong bonds with children and their families and guiding their individual learning journeys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development

  • Encourage children's growth through play-based experiences and creative learning

  • Carry out observations and assessments, contributing to children's learning records

  • Maintain the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children at all times

  • Build positive partnerships with parents and carers through clear communication

  • Follow safeguarding policies and procedures consistently

  • Work collaboratively as part of a friendly and supportive nursery team

  • What We're Looking For

    Essential:

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification or higher

  • Strong knowledge of child development and the EYFS

  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection

  • Nurturing, patient, and positive approach to working with children

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Desirable:

  • Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to undertake training)

  • Experience as a key person

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
