About this job

A supportive and inclusive secondary school in Edware, North London, are looking for a Psychology graduate keen to gain some experience with young people. This role would involve supporting a student with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs, in a mainstream secondary environment. This role would suit a Psychology graduate with a good understanding of SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs, looking to gain practical experience. This role is for a January start, and would involve working 1-1 with a student with SEMH needs. Experience working with children/young people is ideal, but the most important thing is a desire to support young people and help them thrive.

As a SEMH teaching assistant, you will be supporting both the staff and students. The school is flexible with an inclusive ethos which ensures there are consistently high expectations for all. If you are looking to gain classroom experience in a supportive environment, this could be a great opportunity for you. They are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual who is keen to make a difference and support young people. This could also suit a recent psychology (or similar) graduate who has a strong understanding of SEMH needs, with limited practical experience.

This is a full time, long term role in a mainstream secondary school, with trials commencing from the 6th of January.
