About our School:
Trinity Bay State High School is a large co-educational secondary school in Cairns with approximately 1,800 students from Years 7-12. The school serves a diverse community, including students from a wide range of cultural, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds. Around 35% of students identify as Indigenous, predominantly Torres Strait Islander, and the school also welcomes students from migrant and international backgrounds. About the Role:
- Provide professional support and information for students, parents, carers and school communities that facilitate partnerships in decision making for the enhancement of all students' learning.
- Provide services such as counselling, assessment and intervention, focusing on students' mental health and wellbeing.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions.
- Conduct psycho-educational assessments and provide recommendations to support student learning and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with families, schools, and community agencies to coordinate support services.
- Provide advice and professional learning to school staff on student mental health and wellbeing.
- Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies.
- Maintain accurate records, reporting, and data management in line with departmental requirements.

Mandatory Requirements:
- Qualification in Psychology.
- General registration with AHPRA, or provisional registration with an approved supervision plan for new graduates.
- Ability to maintain AHPRA registration throughout employment.
