Your Opportunity:

Being part of the Student Wellbeing program, we aim to ensure every Queensland primary and secondary state school student has access to a wellbeing professional at school. The focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. Wellbeing professionals employed through the Student Wellbeing program work as part of schools' established student support teams to enhance the wellbeing and mental health support available to students. In this position you will undertake individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions with students and work in a holistic approach. The position is open to both Social Workers and Psychologists.

Provisional psychologists and early career encouraged to apply. Supervision for AHPRA requirements are included for provisional and general psychologists. At the moment we also have capacity to provide supervision for the clinical endorsement pathway.

We are looking for a Social Worker and Psychologist.

As the Social Worker, you will:

  • Operate in an advisory and advocacy capacity providing services specific to the social work discipline.
  • Respond to the needs of the student population and school community to provide personal and family counselling, therapy and group work, facilitation of referrals to other allied health professionals, and service and care coordination for the purpose of assisting student's wellbeing and mental health.

This is a PO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the PO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the PO3 once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of PO2 to PO3 classification range. 

As the Psychologist, you will:

  • Provide professional support and information for students, parents, carers and school communities that facilitate partnerships in decision making for the enhancement of all students' learning.
  • Provide services such as counselling, assessment and intervention, focusing on students' mental health and wellbeing.
