About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Adhering to established business processes to resolve customer requests, including issue investigation, problem solving and escalating unresolved requests as appropriate.
  • Using departmental tools and resources (including SAP, Agresso and Excel) to query and retrieve data stored in corporate information systems and databases, and to analyse and present this data in various formats for team reporting purposes
  • Providing a comprehensive range of administrative support (e.g. preparation of reports, and correspondence) and identify problems, conduct research, seek expert advice, recommend solutions.
  • Reviewing and improving methodologies for processing, maintaining and analysing data to ensure timeliness, data accuracy and efficiency of the processes.

Highly desirable skills and experience;

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple, competing priorities and working with focus and optimism in an environment of complexity and ambiguity.
  • Excellent time management skills including working to deadlines, attending to detail at all times.
  • Experience ensuring the accuracy, reliability and security of data required for analytical and reporting purposes.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to identify creative solutions to emerging problems.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate in a clear, succinct and deliberate manner, adjusting the message so that it resonates with different stakeholders.
  • Understanding of, or experience in, an education context.
  • Knowledge of departmental financial processes and policies.

The Project Officer reports to the Manager, ICT Resources and Initiatives, Customer Engagement, Information and Technologies Branch.
