About the role:
As the Project Officer (Identified) you will:

  • Undertake specialist project activities to achieve training and development expected outcomes.
  • Oversee the development, implementation and monitoring of nominated projects, including the coordination of the various activities associated with achieving project objectives
  • Manage liaison, communication and coordination with other teams across the department contributing to the project.

Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Assist in coordinating the development and implementation of policies, practices and procedures.
  • Assist in coordinating, organising and promoting the activities identified within the program.
  • Provide support service programs for schools that will assist in encouraging the educational participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
  • Prepare briefing material, submissions, papers and reports.
  • Coordinate, organise, participate and promote the activities of the unit work.
  • Develop and maintain relevant links and networks within the region, the department, other government agencies and other entities.

By definition a person who is not an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cannot be employed (on any basis) to perform the duties of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identified role.
