About the Role

As the Project Officer you will:

  • Undertake specialist project activities appropriate as required to achieve the outcomes expected of the project.
  • Provide appropriate support and intervention to young people and their families to assist in the transition of young people into a viable education.
  • Implement and monitor a project's operational plan and phases, including the coordination of activities of a variety of clients and team members associated with achieving the project objectives.

The Project Officer reports to an officer designated as the project manager. The Project Officer has no permanent subordinate staff but works as a member of a team of multi skilled officers who each report to the manager on strategic matters pertaining to their particular field of activity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participate in, and undertake a designated project and organisational change activities.
  • Resolve operational problems and assist in the development and implementation of initiatives, policies, processes and systems for effective and efficient administration of departmental services.
  • Assist in coordinating the implementation of policies, practices and procedures, relating to the project.
  • Prepare reports and submissions on a range of specific departmental services and respond to related matters identified during the review process.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of training for staff in the work unit and other departmental employees.
  • Attend meetings with departmental officers to discuss, evaluate and revise systems and procedures.
  • Assist in the dissemination of project information to departmental staff and members of the public.
  • Other responsibilities (as required)
    • Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
