About the Role

The role of the Project Officer is to:

  • Develop online web solutions using common web tools and frameworks that align with best practice development.
  • Implement solutions for online delivery, ensuring consistency with departmental design principles and accessibility standards are met in accordance with Government and industry standards, procedures and guidelines.
  • Conduct quality assurance assessments to determine whether appropriate standards have been applied.
  • Support projects in consultation with key stakeholders to ensure identified business and technical needs are met and delivered within scheduled scope and timeframes.
  • Create web page layouts, themes and styling that align to corporate branding, style guides, whole-of-Government standards with cross browser compliance.
  • Work with design and development teams to assess business requirements, determine schedules, usability and create innovative best fit solutions for clients.
  • Have exceptional organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines, take responsibility for tasks and prioritise competing demands.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or previous experience in web design layout and web development, for example:
    • Bootstrap
    • Templating engines (React, Vue etc)
    • Statamic (or other flat file CMS)
    • HTML5/CSS3
    • Git (or other version control) and Azure DevOps
    • SharePoint Online
  • Knowledge and understanding of departmental systems and platforms (or the ability to learn)
  • A strong awareness of current and emerging trends in web design and development.
