About Us:

The Brisbane Youth Education and Training Centre (BYETC) is a Department of Education school which operates within the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre. BYETC students have a range of complex post-detention needs and are supported by a dedicated team of transition officers and personnel from other government agencies and non-government organisations to transition to communities all over Queensland. BYETC is seeking an experienced project manager to enhance our transition service coordination and delivery and improve the post-school options for students.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Lead the review and redevelopment of transition services including systems and processes, workflows, human resource allocations, inter-agency collaboration and post-school support.
  • Establish and cultivate effective relationships and networks with key stakeholders to improve co-ordinated service delivery and alignment between transition planning, case planning and education planning.
  • Ensure effective communication, integration, coordination and liaison occurs within the Region, across the department and with other external stakeholders and clients.
  • Liaise with various school leaders to resolve issues pertaining to transition including identifying anomalies and inefficiencies and developing solutions.
  • Provide high level strategic advice to support senior staff decision-making.
