About the Department:

School and Region Reviews (SRR) support continuous improvement in Queensland early childhood services, state schools and education centres. It provides leadership and oversight for the program of school and region reviews.

Your Role:

As Program Officer, you will contribute to data analysis and reporting that informs the education system, school reviews and improvement. You will provide advice on communicating data insights to executive teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collecting, organising, and analysing primary and secondary data (both qualitative and quantitative) for system reporting.
  • Developing reports, presentations, data visualisations, and other research-based material for the work unit, tailored to different audiences.
  • Supporting the evaluation of key departmental initiatives through data collection, development of surveys and delivery of clear and concise reports.
  • Providing advice and support to senior officers to inform branch, system performance, and major initiatives related to the SRR's activities.
  • Liaising with stakeholders in relation to operational issues and to ensure that deliverables are met.
  • Contributing to the planning, implementation and review of research activities.

About You: 

  • Demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative data analysis and drawing insights for multiple audiences.
  • Ability to communicate research and findings in a clear, succinct way to people with diverse backgrounds, experiences and expertise.
  • Demonstrated self-accountability, through prioritising, planning, and implementing projects and tasks within timelines.
  • Openness to change and flexibility to adjust ways of working to achieve better results.
  • Ability to effectively contribute as part of a team and work collaboratively within and across teams in the department.
  • Previous experience using NVIVO and/or PowerBI will be highly regarded.
